Hey, friends!
I know I’ve been super MIA lately, but in my defense, the world is collapsing around us, and Pagliacci can only laugh for so long, you know? Plus, the whole still having to go to work and do the dishes and eke out an existence in the midst of a world crisis makes time for other stuff seem harder to come by.
And honestly, this still isn’t going to be a standard newsletter - my bad!! Hopefully we’ll get back to that in a week or two?
But in the meantime… money, please!!

That’s right! I want your money, and I’ve got gifs, baby!
Okay, but unlike Mona Lisa Saperstein or a university I won’t mention by name, THIS request is for a good cause - it’s so I can run a half marathon in the Big Apple AND help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes!
And look, I know there’s a billion places for you to donate your money right now. But considering that insurance companies are routinely trying to kill Type 1 Diabetics by charging them exorbitant costs for lifesaving medicine (costs that often lead to folks rationing things like insulin, which leads to more health problems down the line, which costs them more money…), finding a cure is even more pressing than it ever has been.
(And yes, part of this would be solve by fixing healthcare and taking capitalism out of medicine, but there isn’t a charity for that, at least not one that has bibs for this race, so we do what we can.)
So go on, do a donate. The brief serotonin burst is worth it, I promise.

I love you all, and I’ll be back soon with some excellent book recs, I promise!
Peace, love, and all the books,
Amanda
